Can You See Past Your Troubles?

Many of us get stuck in our current reality when setting goals. I meet with people all the time that cannot do one thing or another because of something that has happened to them or someone close to them.
The biggest reality of life is that the past does not dictate our future. The past only has a bearing on our future when we allow it.
Are you stuck in the past, or are you working to overcome the mistakes you have made in order to move on with your life?
Just because our parents may have been bad at managing their money does not mean that we have to be as well. If our parents were overweight or did not get along with each other that does not mean that we have to follow in their footsteps.
The same goes for instances in the past of our own lives. I have never been able to find someone who has not made mistakes in their life. I can, however, show you people who have made mistakes and are still living the same ones years down the road. Until they learn from their mistakes and overcome them, they will not prosper in that area.
I can also show you people who have made mistakes that have learned, and overcome them. Many business owners begin this way. The statistics of failed businesses are overwhelming. In looking at the numbers, I am not sure why anyone in their right mind would go out on their own. Many chose to do so each and every day. Those that learn from their mistakes and move forward usually win in the end.
