An Insider's Guide on Buying a New Car at the Best Price
By: Anthony J.Namata | Posted: 22nd January 2008
Buying a new car is an interesting process. On one end, you have the dealership. Their goal is to sell the new car at the highest price possible, so they make the best profit margin. On the other end, there is you, the consumer. Your goal is to get exactly what you want, and get it at the cheapest price possible. This is where the struggle ensues.
In this article, I will give you tips on how to buy a new car, and get the best deal available on it -- no matter the model or make.
The first trick is to understand exactly what you want, and what you are willing to pay for it. There is no way around it -- in order to get the best deal, you have to plan in advance. The fact is new car dealers use salesmanship tactics to get you to make emotional decisions, not logical ones. And if you don't have a game plan, it will be easy to make a decision of the spur of the moment that you may later regret.
Do your research from a distance. This means getting on the Internet and researching different new cars you'd like to purchase. Get an idea of their market price. Then sketch out a budget plan on what you can afford. Determine what price you would be happy with, and what price you would settle for if you're unable to reach your target.
Now it's time to dig out a deal. The new car market is getting more competitive each year. Dealerships are offering factory rebates, incentives and low-interest financing in order to get your business. Investigate your local options, as well as the Internet. See if anyone is offering an incredibly low incentive or lucrative financing deal. If so, follow up and see if it is genuine.
The third step is simple -- everything is negotiable. There are two prices -- sticker price and actual price. The better your negotiation skills, the more likely you will strike a deal. Simply creating the the plan in step one is one of the best ways to improve your negotiation skills, because you have a target you are shooting for.
One of the best ways to get incentives and rebates is to use a coupon site on the Internet. There are many different coupon sites that will have deals on new cars. For example, using freecouponsnationwide.com, I was able to locate a coupon for a service that would search all my local car dealerships to find best auto prices in my area, and negotiate the best deal for me.
You can get money-saving coupons and discounts like these and more at freecouponsnationwide.com. If you're looking to purchase a new car, or save money on any goods or services, I would start here, and perform a search to see what coupons were currently available.
