Success In 10 Steps

Why didn't you achieve the results you wanted with your network

marketing opportunity? You pictured all of your work-from-home

dreams coming true. You probably talked to really successful

people in your up line and found out what you could potentially

make. You were probably already booking cruises, building homes,

and sending your kids to Harvard in your mind. So why haven't

you made that much? It's not your fault.

The company and the product should be good, but they aren't

relevant. The biggest problem in network marketing is a lack of

training. You can know your product and compensation plan like

no other and still not be properly trained. You should know

your business inside and out, but that alone will not make you

successful. Network marketing is inherently all about people.

If you are not trained on how to study, listen to, understand,

and help people, you will never achieve the success you want.

The good news is that it's not too late. You still have the

opportunity to learn a fundamentally different understanding

of people that you can take with you to any network marketing

company. In fact, you and your people can all be trained for

free.

You've probably met the one or two people in each company who

truly understand what MLM is all about. These people seem to

have something similar to a celebrity status. Except that they

are surrounded by a group of people who are more like a family

than coworkers. They really know each other. They are

comfortable with each other and communicate constantly. They

love working together and have nothing but respect and trust for

their leader. If the company fails, they all travel together to

the next opportunity. What's the secret?

It's really obvious, if you put aside everything you've ever

heard, thought, and been taught about network marketing. It's

not about selling your friends and family. It's not about

not taking no for an answer. It's about building genuine

relationships with people who have real goals. It's about taking

greed and ego out of the equation and helping others achieve

their goals.

Selling, begging, or even bribing friends and family to join you

seems like a logical way to develop that type of close working

group. After all, you already have a personal relationship with

these people. You'd think it would just carry over to your

business. But it doesn't. In fact, selling your friends and

family is a good way to destroy relationships, not build them.

'Hard selling' to people doesn't build relationships. How many

times have you seen "training" literature give dozens of ways to

close people? How often have you felt a little uncomfortable

about the pressure you've put on someone? How many times have

your phone calls and emails been ignored? When people start

avoiding you, you aren't building relationships. You're becoming

a stalker. Most MLM companies will tell you, "It happens. Just

contact a billion people, and there will be two or three who you

can sell." You are soon overwhelmed and spinning your wheels,

spending the majority of your time reselling those same people

every month to stay in the company.

To become successful in network marketing, you have to change

your focus. You have to forget about the company for a minute.

Forget about your product. Forget about yourself. Think solely

about your prospect. Actually listen to him for once. So many

companies have their new recruits tell about themselves. They

usually comply. They describe the job they hate, their families,

their dreams, everything that's important to them. The "sponsor"

then completely dismisses all of this information and moves on to

business. That's a huge mistake. That's not a sponsor. That's

a recruiter. You are not a recruiter. You are a mentor. You

are the person who should listen, understand, and bust your butt

to help your prospect get everything that's important to him.

When your prospect feels that you are going to hold him by the

hand and help him up every single step of the stairway to his

success, you will succeed. There's an American investing firm

that has a series of commercials depicting their executives

cheering on a client's kid at a soccer game, squealing with joy

when a client's teenager gets into college, etc. Their motto is

that they want to know the dreams of their investors. The dreams

then become their own dreams. They succeed when their clients

succeed. If you take that approach to network marketing, you,

too, will become successful. Your people won't feel used. They

will trust you and your judgment. You will soon have prospects

coming to you, begging you to sponsor them into your program.

You now have a grasp of the theory. You understand why it's so

important to build relationships. Now what? How do you actually

build these relationships? How are you supposed to train your

people to be able to read, understand, and work with others when

no one has ever trained you to do that? It's simple. Start

getting that training. It's even free. You'll need to work

hard; you'll need to implement everything you learn, but you

will become successful.

You'll learn how to read people. You'll know immediately whether

or not your prospect has the desire to take the risk and achieve

his goals. You'll find out which people to completely invest in,

which to let be autonomous, and how to construct relationships

with all of them. It's all about building partnerships with

people based on trust and emotional connections.

Take advantage of the free individual and group training

sessions. Don't worry; no companies are mentioned in the

training. It's designed to work with any network marketing

company and product. And you don't just get the free training.

You will also be able to call and email knowledgeable people

who can answer your specific questions.

Your relationship training will pay off when you watch people

you've mentored become successful and reach their professional

and personal goals. If you are honest, caring, and treat your

people right, your network can outlive many companies. If

something happens to your company and you are put in the position

of starting over from scratch, your people will all rally around

you. They'll simply want to know what company you're taking

them to next. That's when you know you've become successful

in network marketing.
