Stamp your personality on your HP iPAQ
By: lexisclick | Posted: 25th June 2008
While your shiny new HP iPAQ looks very nice out of the box it doesn’t say anything about you as a person (unless you’re a minimalist). There are a multitude of ways that you can stamp your personality on your iPAQ, a few of these can be found below.
1: Change the default theme or colour scheme. Just like with home PC’s that run Windows, the HP iPAQ can change the appearance of its mobile version of Window. If you like switching themes regularly you can download theme packages with hundreds of themes from the internet.
2: Transfer your personal files on to your iPAQ. You can do this by connecting to your PC using the cable that came with your iPAQ, then download your favourite images, music and videos.
3: Store photos of your loved ones. Your wallet is way too small to fit all your photos so why not let your iPAQ take the strain; transfer them from your computer or digital camera to your handheld.
4: Add your own tunes and match the soundtrack of your life to any mood by creating your own playlists in Windows Media player using the music files you transferred from your PC. If you’re planning on listening to music in public you’ll also need a pair of head phones; this presents another chance to stamp your personality onto your iPAQ through buying s pair of funky headphones.
5: Customise your calendar. There are a vast array of different calendars available. We may not always realise it but we all need to organise our time. So, whether you are a student, young professional, a business person or even if you are retired you’ll find a custom calendar invaluable.
6: Download and play mobile games. There is a vast list of games available for the HP iPAQ. Including original games written specifically for your handheld, adaptations of classic games and ports of the latest console and PC releases.
7: Check your emails while on the move. Not all HP iPAQs are able to connect to the internet or to receive emails, but those that do will allow you to keep in touch wherever you happen to be.
8: Dress your iPAQ in a case or sleeve. There are loads of cool, protective cases or sleeves which you can use to individualise and protect your iPAQ in a way that underlines your personal style.
9 & 10 are a couple of warnings that you’ll need to heed when customising your iPAQ.
9: Be careful not to try running too many applications at once otherwise you’ll run the risk of causing your iPAQ to freeze and you’ll need to soft reset it.
10: When downloading new software, you need to be aware it may sometimes not be compatible with other applications or files that you’re using on your HP iPAQ.
That’s about it, after reading this guide you should be well on the way to having a truly unique iPAQ that really says something about you.
