Well, it all hard to say what your result will be as it really depend on several factors like what causes your break up, who initiated the break up, your ex personality, etc.
While there are many factors that are not under your control and you can't do anything about it, there are still others that you can control. What you want to focus on is those factors that you can control.
For example, man men and women tend to make certain mistakes when trying to get their ex back. What you can do now is to be aware of them so that you will not make them.

This usually happens when your ex is not picking up the phone. However, you really want to talk to your ex. So, you keep on dialing and dialing.
Don't do that. Give your ex some space if he/she doesn't want to pick up the phone. If you push too hard, it is only going to back fire. He/she will instantly know you are quite desperate and will only tend to avoid you more.
2) Begging your ex to come back to you
Again, a big mistake that you must avoid. Begging your ex is only going to make your ex wants to run away faster. As mentioned, desperation only drives people away.
There are more mistakes than those 2 mentioned above. If you think you have already made some mistakes, do not worry about it. There are still things that you can do to get your ex back.
