GeneWize Mlm Review- Is This A Scam That Fools With Mother Nature?
By: MS Hutchins | Posted: 15th August 2008
I must admit that the network marketing aspect of GeneWize sounds good. I mean, who would not hop on board with a company that genetically prescribes health? Yep, just place a swab inside your mouth, send it to ye olde lab, and wait for your bionic powers to appear. Or, will they appear at all?
GeneWize is the newly formed marketing arm of a 12 year old, publicly traded company. The company is GeneLink inc., and they are a well respected genetic, biosciences company. It seems that they have developed a technology capable of analyzing an individual's DNA, and then formulating a nutritional supplement package capable of fulfilling a person' nutritional requirements. A few other companies have attempted similar packages, but they were not completely individualized.
The company is in the earliest stages, and is set to launch Aug 1st. I tried hard to gather information on company leadership, to no avail. They do say that they are looking for "leaders", typical of mlm companies at this stage.
The compensation plan must have been designed by the scientists at GeneLink inc., because it is incredibly complicated! It is, more or less, a traditional binary plan. Apparently, you have two "teams",a lead team and a chaser team. You have the opportunity to earn percentages of the revenue generated by your chaser team. The company is remarkably "hush-hush" about many aspects of the business, including what the product will cost. They do have an opportunity for distributors to get their product free by sponsoring 4 distributors.
At this stage of the game, it is difficult to evaluate the long term prospects of GeneWize.Much depends on the cost of the product vs. the percieved benefits it provides. If it produces no measurable, or tangible benefits, people will be reluctant to continue to purchase it. Tech-no hype can only get a company so far. People want to emotionally experience results.
I would encourage people to hold off for 6 months to a year before getting involved. Take a "wait and see" approach.
