Things to be Thankful For
Seeing that Thanks Giving is right around the corner, I thought it would be fitting to write an article about things that I am thankful to have in my life. Realizing that we all should be thankful for the things which we have all year round, sometimes we forget to think about them until either something happens that inhibits them from being in our lives, or when Holidays roll around.
For me personally, my family definitely takes top spot in the things which I am thankful for. I believe that each of us live our lives and work toward goals in order to make our families and loved ones lives better. My family is my motivation and brings the most joy into my own life. Every family is different, and it doesn’t mean that you have to be married to have a great family relationship. If you consider your best friends to be your family, it’s what makes you happy that is important.
I’m thankful to live in a great country. If you watch television or read the news, negativity can be seen everywhere. There are wars going on, economic struggles, starvation, and much more; and it can be very depressing if you thing about it too much. However; living day to day, I don’t see these things very often. I feel blessed to live in a place where life is peaceful for the most part, and where I can find little things that make me happy, such as bike rides and places to spend time with my family.
I’m grateful for good friends. I think each of us feels the same way. I have close friends who I know are willing to drop anything to come and help me and my family if I ever need the assistance. I know that even if I do not see them for long periods of time, I can pick up where we left off. Friends can make life so much easier and can certainly boost moral in tough times.
There are so many things that I could list, but I will stop here. I think during this time of the year it is important to slow down and to really consider those people and things which bring your life happiness. Take the time to let those individuals know how much you appreciate them.
