More tips on your Ski Holidays in France
By: Robert Palmer | Posted: 30th October 2008
Previously we went through the things that you need to go through before going on a ski holiday to France. Today we are going to look at what you should be looking to do on your ski holiday and how you should go about doing it.
Should we eat in or out?
France is world renown for its fantastic gourmet food so eating out is generally popular with most holidaymakers. Self catering us understandably less expensive but after a long hard day on the slopes the last thing you will want to be doing is shopping and then cooking, particularly if you've got a large family. Some holiday operators also offer a service where you get your own cook or if that's not for you can order the freshest local produce straight to your door.
Keeping the children happy.
Although you will be looking to have an entertaining ski break it is just as important that the kids enjoy their time away and become confident on the slopes. Fortunately for parents, France is one of the best countries in the world for child ski classes. Most French ski resorts cater to English speakers so that your children will be able to understand. There will also be other facilities to keep them busy should they still have energy after skiing. Swimming pools, activity centres and games rooms will be provided at most resorts.
Save money on equipment hire and lift passes.
This is something that is generally used by people who come back to the same resort a year later. If you keep the previous years pass when buying a new one you should be able to get a decent discount. Discounts are also available for children (depending on age) You can also book your equipment and lift pass before you leave so that everything will be ready as soon as you arrive.
