Menopausal symptoms vary from one woman to another. Some have few problems, while others find it physically and emotionally draining. Taking special care of your nutritional health can help your body cope.
Your diet..
A well -balanced diet is essential to help your body adjust to hormonal changes. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, avoid refined and processed food and eat little and often to keep blood sugar stable. Cut down on tea, coffee and alcohol, ensure you eat plenty of oily fish, nuts and seeds and include food containing phytoestrogen, particularly soy (as milk, yoguurt or tofu), which can help with hot flushes, lower cholesterol and amy protect against osteoporosis.
Supplements to consider...
Vitamins B, C and E and magnesium are known to help with menopausal symptoms. A good multivitamin and mineral supplement that includes boron, with extra doses of the other vital vitamin on top, to add up to a daily total of: 1000mg of vitamin C, 50mg of B vitamins, 300mg of magnesium, 500mg of calcium citrate and 400 international units of vitamin E.
