New Zealand has one of the highest populations of foreign born citizens in the world, almost a quarter are born overseas. So arriving there and trying to fit into everyday life is a challenge for many. But to make their transition to Kiwi culture a bit easier our correspondent Gina Shakespear found a way.
It's not hard to see why so many people from around the world have chosen to make New Zealand their home. It's a green land, a clean land and there's plenty of room for everyone to live a rich and fulfilling life.
Support for newcomers takes different shapes and forms. One event that's particularly geared toward this, is the Migrant Expo which has just pulled 10,000 plus visitors.
[Tina Raines, Organizer]:
"Well it was our dream because we are migrants. We were here some 20 years ago and there wasn't any thing around. Many migrants were looking here and there and didn't know what to do. So that's how the show came about to have everything under one roof."
And one roof it was. Visitors to the expo could tickle their taste buds with an array of tantalizing flavors. World cuisine at it's very best.
Jobs, Education, Language and Home loans were amongst the more popular exhibits. They are all based around helping new migrants to have a better quality of life by taking care of the necessities.

"We heard a lot about the country so best we come and see it. So we came and we loved it. Then I brought over my wife and kids and we all settled down happily."
