Ford Unveils Vision of the Future

Bookmark and Share
Frankfurt Motor Show, September 11 2007 -- After the unprecedented levels of success witnessed by the company in 2006, all eyes will be on Ford at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show as they reveal three all-new models.

First up is the new Focus. The car that started the kinetic design revolution has been given a makeover, complete with a radically restyled exterior, improved interior and revolutionary six-speed, double clutch transmission system. And thanks to a clever combination of fuel-saving measures, the Focus ECOnetic boasts an average CO2 emission of only 115 g/km, which is a class leading result for a conventional vehicle in this segment.
With around 5 million vehicles produced in Europe, the Focus is the first and - to date - only car in the world to be acclaimed "Car of the Year" both in Europe and in North America. In total the Ford Focus has won over 80 awards in Europe alone. With this newest version of the Ford Focus due to begin rolling off the production lines from the end of 2007 as a 3-door and 5-door hatchback and as a wagon, this success story is set to continue.

The Kuga is an exciting 4WD crossover vehicle inspired by the stunning iosis X concept revealed at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Combining style and technology, the Kuga promises impressive on-road performance coupled with an impressive off-road capability. The fact that the Kuga will also be available as a front-wheel-drive only version simply emphasises the crossover concept of the vehicle.

The Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy have all benefited from minor changes, including a new engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox, to provide a comfortable, convenient, yet still engaging driver experience. The Durashift 6-tronic is a compact, lightweight, electronically-controlled fully automatic stepped transmission with a choice of drive modes -- Sport and Manual.

Finally the Verve Concept will also be on show, giving a strong indication of Ford's design vision for its next generation of small cars. It is expected to reach the production line largely unchanged by 2009.
