At their wedding reception at the Cory Mansion, Paulina tells Jake that he blew it; all he had to do was leave her at the altar and he could be working on getting Marley back right now. Everyone saw the way Jake looked at Marley. Jake says he only has eyes for Paulina. "Be still my heart," Paulina says sarcastically. Jake suggests Paulina go and powder her nose or something, but she says she wouldn't leave his side for a minute. Jake wants to find Sam and have him give the toast so he and Paulina can get out of there and get to the wedding night. Paulina makes a face and tells Jake not to even think about it. Jake says he was thinking about getting a six-pack and watching the Cubs and asks Paulina what she had on her mind. Paulina tells Jake he can do whatever he wants as long as he does it in the maid's room. Then the photographer approaches and tells them it's time for their portrait. Jake tells Paulina not to forget to smile and swats her behind, and she says she'd rather eat dirt and die, but they pose by the wedding cake and smile for the camera. After the picture, and Paulina's complaint about seeing dots in front of her eyes, Jake sees Terry motioning to him from by the terrace and tells Paulina he has to go and say hi to somebody, and why doesn't she give him a big, sloppy kiss. Paulina tells Jake to drop dead, and Jake replies that he loves her too, then talks to Terry and tells Terry to leave him alone. When Jake returns to the reception, Rachel announces that it's time for Jake and Paulina's first dance. Jake would rather dance with Rachel, but she tells him not her, Paulina. Jake and Paulina awkwardly try to dance as Rachel, Felicia, Lucas, Jenna, Matt, Jamie, and Marley look on. Jake and Paulina plead self-consciousness and Jake asks Sam to join them, so Sam and Amanda join Jake and Paulina, and they're dancing a lot less awkwardly than Jake and Paulina are. Jake tells Paulina he'll try to get her out of there as soon as possible. Paulina sarcastically replies that he's so good to her. The song ends, and Amanda runs away from Sam, but he follows her. Jake seethes while watching Rachel and Michael fawn over Jamie and Marley. When Hannah comments on how neat it is that Jamie and Marley are so gaga over each other, Jake says he thinks it's disgusting. Jake meets up with Paulina again; Iris locked her in the library. Jake asks what it is with Paulina's family and locking people in places. Paulina says it's okay, it actually worked out. Jake notices that Paulina's mascara has run and asks if she's been crying, but Paulina says she's fine. Then Iris enters the reception with her son Dennis Wheeler, who just returned to town literally a few minutes ago and was reunited with Iris and introduced to Paulina in the library. Paulina explains to Jake who Dennis is as Dennis is reunited with Amanda and Rachel. Hannah tells Jake and Paulina they can't leave until they throw the garter and bouquet and the others throw the birdseed. Rachel calls for everyone's attention again, saying that now that everyone is here they can get this over with. She corrects herself immediately, saying now the family can give Jake and Paulina their gift. Paulina tells Rachel she's done too much for Paulina and Jake already, but Rachel tells her to cut the cake so they can get on with the gift. Ada presents Jake with a ribbon-bedecked cake knife, and Jake and Paulina cut their cake amid lots of applause. Hannah tells them now they have to feed each other and prepares to snap a few pictures with her camera, so Jake and Paulina feed each other wedding cake and then Jake surprises Paulina by pulling her into a kiss. After pulling away from him, Paulina tells Jake she'd like to take this cake knife and drive it right through his heart, masking her threat with laughter and speaking so only Jake can hear her. Jake tells her she can't do that until they consummate. "I'm warning you," Paulina continues in the same jolly tone of voice. Jake thanks everyone for sharing the day with them, and Rachel hands Paulina an envelope: she and the family reserved the bridal suite at the Elgin Hotel for Jake and Paulina for the night. Neither Jake nor Paulina knows what to say to that. Paulina says goodbye then, and she and Jake hurry for the front door, but Hannah calls after Paulina that she has to throw the bouquet, so she does...and Marley catches it. Then Hannah, Rachel, Ada, Amanda, Sam, Olivia, Iris, and Dennis hurry outside and shower Jake and Paulina with birdseed as they make their getaway, and Hannah calls out goodbye to them.
