1972 VW Bus engine running REV - SOUND #1

Bookmark and Share
1972 VW Bus engine running. I blew up the engine in 2004 while racing a GSR Integra and I had been rebuilding this new engine slowly for the next year. August 10, 2008, I just got it all back together, replaced the alternator which burned up, rewired everything to the engine correctly and started it up. I let it run for about 30 minutes before taking this video. The carb needs to be adjusted because its running rich but other than that its set to go! It had dual weber 52s but they where choking the engine and it would just die. The engine is from a 1974 Porsche 914 with ported and polished heads, 2332cc pistons/cylinders, pertronix ignition, 009 dizzy, single progressive weber carb, de-covered exhaust boxes, headers, custom ricer muffler, chrome and powdercoating all over the engine along with EMPI valve covers and breather system. Close to $6000 was spent on the engine, transmission and rear suspension alone. Horsepower is of no concern to me anymore, I want this to be reliable!
