The Republicans in Congress are hurting themselves when they follow the likes of Rush Limbaugh who has stated that he hopes Obama fails with the economic stimulus plan. If they continue to follow this guy, they shall lose more seats in 2010. Their best hope is that Obama makes a fatal misstep which is not likely to happen. Because it is not likely to happen, the Republicans' only hope is to maintain and they can only maintain be supporting President Obama on the stimulus plan. The last thing the Republicans would want is for us to bring out the "big guns", i.e., their own words about them and how they really screwed things up economically in the United States. We could begin with the infamous REPUBLICAN MEMO where they indicate themselves that it is they, the Republican Party, that the American people despises the most.
Obama is not likely to attack George Bush but will attack the Republican Party should they continue to sit on the fence and block progress for the sake of blocking progress by a democratic president and Congress. At the same time, George Bush realizes that his biggest attackers are actually within the Republican hierarchy. How will Obama attack the Republicans? You see it in this video. He will travel directly to strategic Republican strongholds and pacify those Republican areas hardest hit by this economic monster built largely upon Republican DEREGULATIONS and huge tax benefits for the wealthy. President Obama now has the power of the presidency behind him as George Bush once had. He can travel to various areas of the country and use his character and knowledge to peel away more and more of the Republican base. What he has done is indicated to Rush Limbaugh that we are invading what you have always presumed was your turf. We are taking you on directly. It is what he meant during the primaries when he stated that he is from Chicago and he knows how to use his "elbows".
