Fresh from his endorsement from the Kendall Federation of Homeowners Associations, Jim Shedd candidate for Miami-Dade Property Appraiser has released his plan to improve service and bring assessments back down to earth in Miami-Dade County.
At a recent forum sponsored by the KFHA Mr. Shedd questioned why property assessment standards are different in Miami-Dade County as opposed to the rest of the state. Jim Shedd told those in attendance that he would do everything possible to make sure that Miami-Dade County would be treated fairly and equitably "even if that means taking the Department of Revenue to court."
Jim Shedds plan also stresses making the Property Appraisers Office more consumer friendly by amongst other things delegating more authority to satellite offices in order to minimize the need for property owners to drive downtown when they have an issue. "I want the citizens of Miami-Dade County to see me as their advocate" said Mr. Shedd in closing at the KFHA event.
