"DeSoto, Styled for Tommorrow."

A collection of DeSoto classic car commercials from 1954 and 1955. The DeSoto is promoted as having appeal to women as well as men. Styling is emphasized as being "sleek, taught and modern." The "smart" design features the new contouring and gracefullness of the DeSoto.

The 1955 DeSoto includes two V8 models, the new Firedome with 185 horsepower and the super powered Fireflight with 200 horsepower.

The interior of the 1955 DeSoto, available in over two dozen color combinations, features beauty, comfort, glistening metallic thread fibers, the softest shoemaker's leathers and gleaming chrome. Additional features include the instrument panel's double cockpit effect and the flight control lever for the automatic transmission.

A demonstration of the 1954 DeSoto driving off-road in the California desert shows the power and utility of the new Powerflight automatic transmission with "full time power steering." The 1954 DeSoto was offered in two models: the 170 horsepower Firedome 8 and the Powermaster 6.
