What is Laguna Club?
Laguna Club currently offers shared freehold ownership at Hacienda Riquelme, near Murcia, the provincial capital, close to Spain's 'undiscovered' Costa Cálida. Resorts in other parts of the world, such as South Africa and Turkey will become available in due course.
What is shared ownership?
Shared ownership is an affordable alternative to outright ownership. You buy a certain number of specified weeks a year, and they're yours for ever or until you sell them. The Freehold title also comes with the purchase.
Shared ownership is not timeshare or a holiday-points scheme. It's actual ownership of a share in a property. It offers a tangible asset, which can be exchanged, resold in the future or even 'gifted' to family members. Timeshare, on the other hand, is usually sold on a leasehold basis, nowadays often for 30 years, at the end of which the property reverts to the landlord, by when to you it is worthless. With freehold shared ownership, as at Laguna, you own the property rights, to keep, to gift, or to sell.
As well as being significantly cheaper than owning a property, it comes without all the worries: no worries about repairs, local taxes, utility bills or burst pipes in winter. Instead, with Laguna you pay a single fee annually to cover all maintenance charges.
