HI this is Josh's friend MadMartigan, we will be recording videos together every other weekend, Josh just got tired of talking so he decided to spice things up abit.
Today this video will be on Josh's top four pics for screen recording software. This question was submitted to us by StephenLeek's -- it reads...Josh, could you make a video on the best free screen recording software please? I've looked but i thought you might know because your quite the wizz at things like this :) -- StephenLeek's thank you for the question.
So lets get started, but before weget going Josh just wanted to say we are starting a new thing which is shownotes. We are putting everything Josh says in the description box which is to the right of this video. So if you are more of a reader than a listener this will accomadate you.
Anyway enough blabbering, lets get started with the video.
My number one pick for the best screen recording software is CamStudio. CamStudio is what we are using now to record this screencast. My reaons for likeing CamStudio so much is because its FREE . on the webpage you should see aa link for the new camstudio2.5 beta 1. This works best on Windos Vista, much better than the previous version. Click on click here, scroll down until you see the second link. This link will also be in our description.
http://www.camstudio.org/dev
once you get past please select CamStudio.2.5.b1.bin.zip (http://camstudio.org/dev/CamStudio.2.5.b1.bin.zip)

My second pick for the best software is HyperCam2. Here's some info about HyperCam (http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/ ). HyperCam captures the action from your Windows screen and saves it to AVI (Audio-Video Interleaved) movie file. Sound from your system microphone is also recorded. One downfall of HyperCam, is that you have to pay for it and if you don't it puts an annoying watermark that reads "unregistered HyperCam2. The only reason I like it is because you can record in full screen or in a selected window. With CamStudio 2.5 Beta on vista it does not give you the capability to do it and gives you an error along with other strange messages.
My third pick, is FrontCam, this one I'm not very fond of since it is just a copy of HyperCam, but anyway here is some info about it and a link to their website: FrontCam is a screen camcorder tool. It can capture the action from your screen into standard AVI movie files. Sound from your system microphone is recorded. You can use it to capture screen into static pictures too. It is an ideal tool to make software demonstrations, develop videos for training and tutoring.
http://www.frontcam.com/ See it's a copy of HyperCam -- posers.
My last pick for the best screen recording software is BSR Screen Recorder. I really dislike this recorder since it doesn't record sound for Vista even though it says on their site, VISTA COMPATABLE. I don't recommend you download this one due to obvious reasons, but I'll give the link to it anyway maybe it will work for you: http://www.thesilver.net/ . So thanks again StephenLeek's for your question, like Josh says in almost every video please remember to: comment, rate, subscribe. Josh says see you guys soon.
