The power unit delivers in excess of 120 PS per literand yet qualifies as an LEV (Low Emission Vehicle).A new 6-speed manual transmission was developed to handle the considerable power delivered by the compact naturally aspired 2-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder VTEC engine, delivering exhilarating accelerations and redefining driving pleasure. The S2000 features an electrically-operated convertible soft top and highly rigid body construction of the type normally reserved for closed-body vehicles, providing the foundation for open-air driving enjoyment with outstanding dynamic performance and world-class safety protection. The car also embodies the technological advances developed by Honda engineers over the past four decades on racing circuits around the world.
