A demonstration to improve our legal system.
Aim: We are demonstrating against solicitors generating bancruptcy against clients they are in dispute with.
At present the Insolvency and Enterprise Act which does not protect thoes who are solvent but have been made bankrupt.
We also ask for an end to the practice of trustee in bancruptcy being nominated by the creditor (solicitors).
We ask for protection from unscrupulous solicitors by changing the ineffective self-regulatory systems. This includes getting rid of the Memorandum of Understanding between the police and the Law Society in England and Walses.
We ask for seperation of the judiciary and advocacy. Practicing solicitors and barristers should not be allowed to sit as judges or registrars in the same court where they represent clients.
We also ask for a Totally Independant Body to look into cases where they are victims of these abuses caused by these practices.
