I'll have to type up a good description considering our lack of a decent video camera and software. To start off, we know this is a late entry but we figured, what's it hurt to try. Now the opportunity is out there for us. We apologize for the poor video quality. At any rate, my fiance and I moved into this house about a year ago and we have been doing our best to keep up with bills and trying to get the house to look half way decent. With the wedding plans in action and working with 2 low paying salaries, things are pretty tough especially considering were only 20 and 22 years old. We decided to get a house young. Some of the things we really dream to happen in our house here are a nice family room in the basement. Before we moved in, it was finished with a bar and everything but then the June flood hit last year and destroyed everything. So there are half finished walls hanging up and a completely open ceiling and concrete floor. Our furnace is about 25 years old and because of the flood, is very rusty and makes all sorts of clanky noises that it shouldn't and our water heater...I don't know how it hasn't broken out on us yet it's so rusty. The wiring is mix-matched thru-out the house and we are tripping breakers all the time. (Just blow drying your hair or cutting a piece of wood will do it.) We need upgraded wiring badly considering that and the exposed wiring that has no connections anywhere just hanging around. Our upstairs has a ripped up floor, some missing wall panels, and random holes in the old foam ceiling tile with pieces falling out. Our kitchen has half of a floor because of yet another unfinished project. The floor was unleveled due to the foundation sinking so we have been trying to fix that and install some insulation as well. The garage has no insulation, plexiglass windows with a big corner missing from one of them, doors that don't stay shut, and chunks of the concrete floor missing in random places. It also has an old rusty fuse box that continues to get leaked on through our leaky roof. And the old aluminum siding is beat up and missing pieces in random places. To sum this up, I know it's a poor quality video and it's hard to hear my voice in the video, so I figured a decent description might be considerable. We wanted to at least take a shot at the contest so we can say we tried. Our main goal is to get a decent furnace and insulate the entire house and put some new siding on so we wouldn't have to dress in layers every day throughout the winter because of the cold in the house. And also to save on our energy costs. It's tough caring for 2 dogs, planning a wedding, and trying to piece your house back together while bringing in two low incomes. We're getting by with the bills just barely but with your help, Home Depot, we can take care of our dream remodel as well! Thanks a bunch for taking the time to read this and view our not so high quality or creative video. We really do hope you consider us! Happy holidays Home Depot and thanks again!
