There are many advantages to adding an RSS feed to Homestead Websites. There are a couple of website disadvantages too. One of the major advantages of adding a Feed Burner URL to your web site is that it increases the content on your web pages. Displaying greater content gives the search engine more keyword combinations to match that may bring additional visitors to your site. With all of the competition on the Internet, every visitor that we can draw onto our sites is a step in the right direction. Although an RSS feed (or, stream) of content from someones blog may draw visitors to your site and cause them to stay longer, it can have a negative effect as well. These content generators are filled with hyper text links and often times advertisements that may cause a visitor to exit your site when they click on an active link or banner. I recommend placing the feed in the lower fold of the page.
How To Find A Site Feed URL:
You will have to search Google, Yahoo or MSN for a particular site feed URL to add to your Homestead site. Whatever your nitch is about, tennis, cars, sky diving or fishing, you can find a related blog feed to match your web site theme by combing the search engines. Blogs will display various symbols that indicate an active URL feed. The most popular one that I have seen is the large orange square that has text that says subscribe in a reader.
