The new, direct-injection 5.0 Litre V8 Supercharged engine dramatically strengthens the XF´s performance story, producing a remarkable 510PS enough to launch the new XFR from zero to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds. And with its semi-active exhaust the new XFR produces the kind of pulse-racing growl to match its stellar performance. Its advanced direct injection system and latest generation supercharger provide efficient power delivery giving class leading economy of 22.5 mpg and a CO2 emissions performance of only 292g/km.
The new, naturally-aspirated 385PS 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol sees a striking step-up in performance. Power output soars by 29 per cent over its predecessor delivering a 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds (0-100kph in 5.7 seconds), yet without affecting fuel efficiency or exhaust emissions. Variable Camshaft Timing and Camshaft Profile Switching optimise efficiency at low and high speeds and deliver strong low speed torque.
The new XF 3.0 Litre Diesel produces 240PS coupled with a muscular 500Nm of torque. The high performance 3.0 Litre V6 Diesel S delivers 275PS and a massive 600Nm. The Diesel S model delivers 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds (0-100kph in 6.4 seconds). The parallel sequential turbo boosting system provides immediate response at low engine speeds with low specific and transient fuel consumption. And while these two new, world-class engines provides a major uplift in power, Jaguar´s engineers have managed to deliver the seemingly impossible; significantly improved fuel efficiency of 42mpg/6.8 per 100km with a truly exceptional CO2 emissions performance of just 179g/km.
