Applicants must not have been convicted of, or plead guilty or nolo contender in any jurisdiction of any Felony or Class A misdemeanor.

In general, applicants must have two years of documented experience in an investigations capacity. Those with a four year degree, and/or bail bondsman experience may be eligible.

The Arkansas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies has rules which require Private Investigator's to execute contracts with their clients.
There are reciprocity agreements with Tennessee, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
