Signing The Top Line....

Swanning Around : A Moment To Treasurer & Treasure.

Swan Might Play An Instrument Better Than He Can Sign One ?

The date 03/12/2007 the place Government House Canberra, Australia. The occasion was the swearing in of the countries 26th. Prime Minister, Ministers & Parliamentary Secretaries.

This grab features an incident not widely reported to my knowledge. To Wit ( a twit ) : Australia's New Treasurer signing the instrument of his office in the wrong place ! Where upon The Governor-General had no choice but to tell him of his error & to re sign !
Now on first thought the reader & viewer might think this is but a trifle, but if The Treasurer of Australia can not even sign for his own job properly, what can we expect from the mountains of paperwork & documents to be signed during his tenure in that office !
One might also say, well Wayne was somewhat nervous during this ceremony, but who in their right mind would want to travel for example on a bus, plane or train where the driver or pilot was nervous ! I have noted over some time the hesitation & nerves displayed by Wayne Swan & I can only believe he was given this job by Heavy Kevy as some sort of reward for being school mates, as Swan's abilities for High Office are very questionable, take for example the paste from an e-mail & the blatant rewriting of this media release, as mentioned by David Speers from Sky News Australia. Swan's Man Adam Shortman e-mailed this effort to me without the original error from Swan, as reported by David Speers, it was a very hypocritical act for Wayne Swan to perpetrate on The Australian Voters as the context of this media release dealt with an error made by former PM John Howard in a TV interview. Here is the part of the media release, which indicates Swan replaced the word WEEK with MONTH : -

On a mortgage of $300,000 the 0.25 percent difference between Mr Howard's answer and the correct answer is equivalent to around $50 a month or about $600 a year.

"On a mortgage of $300,000 the 0.25 percent difference between Mr Howard's answer and the correct answer is equivalent to around $50 a MONTH {week} or about $600 a year."

As reported by David Speers on SKY NEWS Australia.

It is somewhat ironic & a little amusing that Wayne Swan has a name that if he were the name sake animal he would have The Queen's Protection, HM did not get much of a mention during this swearing in, but I'm sure Wayne Swan has a warm fuzzy feeling that his name sakes are so well looked after & I would fancy a few of those graceful white birds could out wit Wayne any day !

It seemed that Wayne's signing gaff made The Governor- General keen to let most, but not all subsequent signatories know where to put their monica !
Clark Kent aka Senator Faulkner was diligent with his pen & was one of the new Ministers not to be reminded by The GG.

I did like the words of Australia's New Defence Minister though, good to see there are a few good men & true in this New Government....
