Cobra Charmer, Luxor, Egypt

Bookmark and Share
This man is "charming" two cobras on a street in Luxor, Egypt. Luxor is also know as ancient Thebes. Another man enters the frame and actually picks up one of the cobras . I was told, by the man who picked the cobra up, that it had no teeth. Since I am not fluent in Arabic, he conveyed this to me by smiling a toothless grin at me and pointing to the snake. The snakes were not being mistreated; but, I couldn't help but feel sympathy for them. The basket to the seated "charmer's" right is full of cobras.
