Location:
The hotel is located at the foot of Micklegate within the historic city walls. Within a 10-minute walk guests will find the main shopping streets of the city, links to the public transport network, numerous bars, restaurants and nightclubs as well as places of interest including the Jorvik Viking Centre, the city wall walk at Micklegate Bar (The Monarch's Gate), York Opera House, and York Dungeon. Within a 15-minute walk guests can reach The Shambles, York Minster, the National Railway Museum, the City Art Gallery and the Theatre Royal. Leeds/Bradford Airport is only 48 km away.

Facilities:
This family-friendly city hotel features contemporary design and is located in the heart of the historic city of York. It was constructed in 2002 as a new building on the site of Victoria House and comprises a total of 104 rooms. Facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception and 24-hour check-out service, a hotel safe, a lift, a breakfast room, 5 meeting rooms and WLAN/Internet access. The Hub coffee bar is on the ground floor serving cappuccino, latte and other hot drinks and there is also a fully licensed bar.

Rooms:
All bedrooms are en suite and the bathrooms come with a walk-in power shower lined with glass walls, and a vanity unit. The beds all have white linen and duvets and each room has wooden laminate flooring, a direct dial telephone and wireless Internet (charges apply). The rooms are also equipped with a TV with movie channels (charges apply) and all rooms have a complimentary tea and coffee making facility. Furthermore, a hairdryer, a radio, a double bed and individually adjustable heating are provided in all accommodation as standard.

Meals:
The continental self-service breakfast is complimentary and is served in the breakfast room on the first floor. It is possible to order cooked items the night before (charges apply).

American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Maestro, MasterCard and VISA are accepted at this hotel.

The hotel has no car parking on site. The nearest pay car park is a 2-minute walk away on Tanner Row, off George Hudson Street.

How to get there:
Guests coming from the North, once in front of the city walls, should bear right, past the Theatre Royal and at the traffic lights turn right over Lendal Bridge. Take the 1st left at the next set of lights onto Rougier Street and at 2nd set of lights turn left onto Micklegate. The hotel is on the left hand side. Those arriving from the M1 should join the A64 signposted to Tadcaster and York, then take the A1036 for York West and follow the signs for the city centre. Pass York Race Course on the right, and once at traffic lighted junction, guests will see the city walls in front of them. Go across the junction and through the archway onto Micklegate. Continue to the end of Micklegate and the hotel is on the left just after the lights. Pass the hotel and turn left at the lights onto North Street. The barrier entrance is on the left.
