Motor / Transmission:
The car runs and drives GREAT! The engine and transmission are STRONG. We just serviced the car before winter, changed all fluids using BMW and Redline fluids- installed a new belt tensioner, 2 new belts, new water pump and flushed the coolant system. I've driven the car MYSELF over the past year and a half and it looks good and runs great. The Engine runs 100% & the transmission shifts 100%. As I mentioned above- I have a few parts to do a 5-speed conversion to this car (We've done over 100+ BMW 5-speed conversions) But, I ended up selling the 5-speed transmission and driveline. I have: e34 5-speed pedals, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, t-bearing, both master and slave cyl.'s, fluid feedline, console insert, shifter, etc... These parts DO NOT come with the car but, can be purchased after the auction if you would want to do the conversion. We charge around $2000-2500. (depending on parts,upgrades,etc..) to do this swap- parts and labor.
Exterior:
The car is clean for the miles, the orig. Alpine white paint is nice and it was garage kept all of its life, The car came from California, to Chicago then to PA and I have all the reciepts including a TRANSMISSION replacement and MANY other repair bills up to 190,000 miles. The car was even garaged the day I bought it. The body has a few small dings here and there but, very minor dings. The windows were tinted and are near perfect, the front low beams have been removed and euro spec black inserts have been installed (much better lighting at night) The '95 has the "wide" hood and grill and we replaced the grills with blacked out chrome, side markers have been replaced with smoked markers and the car just looks good! The body is not perfect- as I said above there are a few dings and marks but, its the orig. paint on the car and it still looks good for the age!! Good PA state inspection, good PA emissions stickers.
Interior:
The interior is CLEAN - the heated seats feel great, all power functions work correctly, The rear seat looks fine, there are a few marks on the seats from age but, not bad...Car has an E36 M3 "Tri-color stich" steering wheel, door panels are clean, the Kenwood CD sounds great, and as you can see there is a Pioneer 12" Subwoofer installed in the rear trunk space- this CAN be removed and replaced with another panel. There is no AMP to power the sub.- I had an amp to put in the car a few months back and just never got around to finish installing it. The car has Traction Control and everything works fine. Now, here the worst part about the car... It has multiple messages scrolling across the dash display- (1. Brake light out; this is due to the 3rd brake light has about 10 bulbs soldered in and a few are burnt out. 2. Trunk lid open; I've adjusted this trunk lid latch 4-5 times now and it always thinks its open. although, having said that, the glass portion has never shut tight to begin with- it always needs to be shut twice. 3. SRS light comes and goes- never had an issue with it until I had one of my guys install the M3 steering wheel. But, sometimes it will stay out for days?? Maybe the clock-spring is going bad because the horn doesn't work anymore either... ETC, ETC, ETC... These are all minor things but, they do get on my nerves while driving. OK, the dual sunroofs have worked fine everytime, we lubed them in the summer and I have not had them open since Fall but, they DO work fine. The A/C was recharged in the spring and has worked fine but, hasn't been on in a few months. Heat works good. Car comes with a whole packet of reciepts but, it does need a new latch on the glove box- still opens fine!
Suspension:
Car has Bilstein struts on the front and we replaced the thrust arms & bushings when we first got the car, The wheels are 18" M-parr. wheels from a 1999 540i sport package car. The wheels do have some curb marks and the big hubs for E39 so, hub centric spacers were used. Car has 2 brand new tires on the front and the rear tires are less than half tread Pirellis. Sometimes in the morning the car has a shimmy at low speeds until it gets warmed up- could be the tires from sitting too- seems like its only when the car sits for a few days. Everything is tight, and the car handles 100%!
Overall:
I LOVE this car myself but, I just have no room for more cars in my world- I have too many cars and I've been selling them off! Check my feedbacks for some of my past cars I've sold! I also have a Black 1995 540i that should be listed soon!
