Lucy... Another Noah's Arc rescue

Bookmark and Share
Lucy was rescued 28th May 2008 from a busy Motorway in Southern Spain. A few minutes more and she could easily have been killed!

A brave passing motorist risked stopping and crossing the motorway to rescue her. She was no trouble to rescue, and immediately began to wag her tail before freely jumping into the boot of the car as if to say "yipppee!!!!! Here is my new Dad".

We took her in and await that special someone for this special girl

Lucy can best be described as very affectionate. She absolutely loves cuddles and strokes. Lucy will make someone a perfect four-legged friend. Although off the lead she does tend to go off for a few minutes at a time before returning, like all greyhounds her recall when off the lead is not particularly good. She is housetrained and travels perfectly in the car.

Her other favourite pastime is sleeping (lots of it) She spends most of her waking hours wagging her tail. She also has learnt that good things happen when she sits at your feet and she now comes over to us a lot and sits perfectly at your feet!

She is very good on the lead, and she sits for her food and to have her lead put on. She very seldom barks and sits quietly for hours looking out across the road silently.

She is very sociable with everyone she meets and gets on well with other dogs, including our two who accepted her immediately. Like all our rescues we would keep her in a heartbeat and we will miss her terribly, but we are determined to continue our work down here rescuing as many of these astonishing creatures as we can.

She is well mannered and does not try to steal your own food. We bathed her recently and she enjoyed that also.

Lucy will make someone a wonderful adoring Friend. If you are considering a Galgo rescue from Spain, please, consider Lucy ...She is an absolute gem and she is gorgeous to look at as well!
