In response to a message I received:
First of all, I have to point out that my "be sensible" comment was in reference to your "white trash/racist" accusation. And, "sweetie," (I'm assuming that was your condescending, sexist way of telling me to stay in the kitchen) I actually feel quite bad for you for a couple of reasons. 1- You're so irrational that you cant argue your point without claiming that somebody is white trash, racist, or I loved this last one ignorant/follower. 2- You actually believe that Obama is going to miraculously change our country/politics. And 3- You cant even spell the name of the party you are voting for.
Lets, since you pointed it out, go back to the Clinton years. Of course, Clinton did very well. he sailed through on the back of the dot com era. The internet was igniting like wild fire. nobodies were getting wealthy instantly, and the economy was a booming success. Well, up until it crashed right as Bush got into office, because all of those people were rich on paper and, of course, lost everything. Also, as Clinton left the White House, he released some of our emergency oil reserves to end his presidency with a successful bang. (not to mention that the republicans were in control of congress.)
Now, as far as Obama and McCain are concerned, people have become increasingly insistent on demonizing their intentions. They are both great people who, like you and I, have opposing viewpoints and solutions. Of course Obama is going to win. Its really hard for many people to vote against a man who is offering them a get out of jail free card. I do not believe in the spread the wealth theory, nor do I believe that raising taxes on corporations during a recession is a good idea. I have no problems with sending SOME of our jobs overseas as long as we are going to create jobs here as well. That probably sounds like a funny statement, but items that bear the made in America tag are often much more expensive than items that are from Taiwan. For example, my parents saved and saved for their first microwave in the early 80s for almost $600 (before some of our jobs were taken overseas), and I just bought a microwave last week for around $40.
So how about we look at Obamas Robin hood theory. Its ok to raise the taxes on the rich right? He says its only 5% of businesses that fall into this category so it does sound great. But who are those businesses? These would be Wal-Mart, Krogers (supermarket), oil companies, clothing and shoe stores, electronics and appliance stores like Sears and Best Buy, pretty much any store you and the rest of America frequents. Who cares about these companies??...they are already making a ton of money. Well, the problem is when these companies receive a tax increase, they WILL pass it on to the customer. We will see more inflation and people will spend less money. Not to mention the fact that corporations will be less likely to expand/hire new workers. Hence the economy will surely fall no change at all idea.
A couple other things you so eloquently mentioned:
1. The Housing crisis-that would be the left pressuring banks to hand out politically correct loans to poor people who could not afford it in the first place.
2. The gas prices-the left has continuously blocked more off shore drilling. its kind of funny that China has started drilling 75 miles off the coast of Florida.
3. Stop following other people-No sir, this would be you. I am apparently the minority here. YOU are the one who cannot take his head out of his ass. YOU are the one who has jumped on the Obama bandwagon along with the out-of-touch celebrities and elitists. YOU are part of a growing group in the left that wants to spread hate and destroy single people because of their beliefs. YOU are a part of a community that wants to silence all of those who oppose your beliefs (i.e. see the Obama/Chicago radio incident or the law suits with talk radio in CA.)
Look, there is enough blame to go around. Conservatives and Liberals both have some major issues and whoever gets elected has a long road ahead of them. Im just honored to be a part of a party that believes in personal responsibility, free speech yes even letting you leftists rant and rave, rights for an unborn baby, and small government.
