A few days back, I realized that I had not yet mentioned the world's economic woes on my blog. The crippled world economy is a profound event that has affected so many people I know, so it's a topic that I shouldn't avoid. In the latest Starcast episode, I discuss at least one potential solution for helping out--that is, forgiving student loan debt or student loan debt interest. It's not such a crazy idea, right? Perhaps you or someone you know has a student loan. What if the slate was suddenly wiped clean? Those who had their debt forgiven would pump their liberated cash back into the economy... and things would improve! Ok, maybe it sounds elitist (as @gooster pointed out on Twitter)... but, the government can always buy a case of beer for those who can't benefit from this program because they never went to college!
