Selling out:
The idea behind this song is that I think its obvious that anyone would choose to be considered main stream rather than underground given the choice to make money doing what they love. I feel that if someone keeps their own style but manages to pick up a sponsorship from Nike for wearing shoes that they would normally wear anyways this doesnt make them a sell-out in my books. I feel that a true sell-out is someone who changes their whole style so that it is more marketable to a certain audience.
Although I refer to Soulja Boy in this song I am in no way saying that I think hes a sell-out. In fact I think if anything Solja Boy is far from that because he has never changed his style from back when he was considered underground. Im just using him as an example of mainstream pop music. No disrespect.
Anyways I really hope you all enjoyed this. Saturday is my official 1 year anniversary of posting my first video on YouTube so thank you all for watching me slowly grow as an artist.
