The song's pretty self explanatory.
It's about having to go down to Brighton (lovely place incidentally) to buy my shoes, as I know of nowhere in London where they sell 'em.
Pretty crap for one of the biggest, supposedly modern, switched on cities in the world init?
Consumers (hate that term!) are most often left little or no option other than leather, which is predominantly imported at rip off prices by big greedy retailers over here from places like China and Russia where human rights aren't much of a concern, never mind animal rights!
This is obviously so uncool init?
Please consider buying some cruelty free. non leather shoes the next time you need some, you'll feel better about it.

Make it your policy to have other options that are animal free, there is a market for it, just look at the food/vegetarian labelling that goes on in major super markets these days, give us more choice please.
