Toyota announced it's business strategy for the coming years which include expansion of hybrid vehicles and broadening their markets to attract new customers. Toyota plans to research hydrogen, bio-energy, and electricity as power alternatives to oil. They also intend to continue reducing the size and cost of hybrid vehicles such as the Prius which had a 50 percent reduction of cost from the first model to the current design. Along with hybrid vehicles, Toyota currently expects to introduce plug-in hybrids for short distance travel into the market by the end of 2009 while continuing research on improvements for electric vehicles such as improving cost and mileage. Toyota aims to expand developing markets such as India, China, Brazil and Russia. Lastly, there are plans to continue it's research of partner robots and mobility robots for the future.
