Look what the tide's washed in, maties! Volvo Car Corporation sent seven
international finalists in its global, multi-media treasure hunt for the
pirate-themed Volvo XC90 V8 to the Bahamas to unearth the buried
treasure of a vehicle worth more than $82,000. The seven wanna-be
pirates, including two women and five men, scoured the islands by sea,
land and air in a dramatic search for the prize.
Hailing from such locales as Newnan, Georgia and Trieben, Austria, the
finalists --three Americans and one each from Japan, United Kingdom,
Spain and Austria -- were flown to an undisclosed location on August 6.
Once there, they
competed in a historic race, frantically deciphering clues that led them
closer to the exact location
of the buried Volvo. The first to find it, kept it! Who was the winner?
